What happened to the original videos?

The original 2015 course referenced two YouTube clips. The lionfish clip remains available and is preserved in the course. The original ARMS video identifier no longer resolves, so the mission now links to the Smithsonian’s current ARMS field story instead of presenting a broken player.

The cabin’s video carousel adds three directly streamed NOAA lionfish explainers, a recent NOAA deepwater observation, and the current Smithsonian DROP video page. Each item identifies its publisher and links back to its original source.

What changed for current learners

The original four-stage mission, photography, and interactive idea remain. The modern version expands the course, verifies sources, and replaces obsolete delivery technology.

The reconstruction replaces Adobe Flash controls with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; adds touch and keyboard support; restores the 42-frame inspection and nine-frame launch; makes both panoramas accessible through current browsers; introduces device-local progress; and adds a printable learning record.
